Dear valued owner of the Predator Gaming desktop,
Acer has identified a potential issue with the Predator Gaming desktops. Under certain circumstances particular wires may get pinched, which could result in overheating and cause melting or damage to the unit. Under rare conditions, it is possible that this issue could pose a risk of fire. As a result, Acer is voluntarily recalling these machines and offering free repairs to replace these wires and correct this issue.
Acer recommends that you discontinue use of the unit and unplug it from the main power supply. You may also reduce the risk of pinching this wire by not opening/closing the hard disk drive (HDD) door on the front of the Predator. We encourage you to contact Acer Customer Service at your earliest convenience to facilitate the rework of your Predator. You can select one of the following methods to reach an Acer Customer Service representative:
1. Call us at 1-866-695-2237 (United States) or 1-866-706-2237 (Canada). Once connected to the first available Agent, please inform him/her that the call is related to PREDATOR, and have the serial number of your unit ready. You will then be put in contact with a specialist for detailed instructions.
2. Send an e-mail to Acer Customer Service. To send an e-mail, click here: http://acer.custhelp.com. You will be contacted by an Acer Customer Service representative within 1 business day.
